Hamleys

Internationally recognised toy retailer Hamleys have ambitious plans to further grow the brand. The Hamleys Own collection, a branded range of toys and games, will continue their tradition of the "finest toys in the world". Plans for international stores and the launch of an exciting new user-friendly website will enable the Hamleys magic to be delivered throughout the world.

As part of the Hamleys retail space and franchise review, it was identified that the existing CCTV security system was unable to meet the current operational needs of the business. After detailed prequalification negotiations with a number of security integrators, Asset security & Protection Ltd (ASP) Security were appointed to design, install and maintain the new CCTV system, consisting of 100 Cameras across 8 Digital Recording Devices).

The strengths of ASP’s winning bid included a financially supported business case, the use of a complete system solution from Pelco CCTV and the transmission of live video over category 5 twisted data cables. Also important was the demonstrated ability to install the new system whilst leaving the existing system operation until final change-over, which minimised the disruption to the daily store operation.
